ITANAGAR, Mar 30: The Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) is working to bring out its annual calendar for recruitment examinations, its secretary Santosh Kumar Rai informed while interacting with media persons in his office here on Tuesday.
The proposed annual calendar once released would be highly beneficial for aspirants to plan their preparations in advance, he hoped, adding that the next priority would be to conduct long pending examinations for advertised posts, including against district quota, before concentrating on issuing advertisement for already listed vacant grade-C posts of various departments.
About 1800 grade-C vacant posts have been advertised for which examinations are to be held, he informed.
On recent recruitment process for LDC, JSA etc, Rai asserted that all aspects were meticulous for conducting a fair examination with transparency on merit. However, the APSSB with the conclusion of recent recruitment examination has set a benchmark for all other Indian states where SSB is functional.
The recruitment process being charted out prior to actual examinations, the APSSB was able to complete the process in a “record time frame of one week” while ensuring fairness and transparency, he said, adding that to ensure transparency and fairness, the APSSB had appointed observers for all 11 districts where recent LDC, JSA etc recruitment examinations were conducted. Moreover, the APSSB also uploads OMR answer sheets, score sheets of candidates etc in its web portal for transparency.
“Due to such steps taken to ensure fair and transparent recruitment examinations, the number of RTI applications to APSSB seeking details has gone down drastically. This is because all relevant details and documents are being uploaded to web portal for transparency,” he said.
He, however, expressed his disappointment over the number of aspirants clearing the skill test for recent LDC, JSA, record keeper, record clerk, and computer operator recruitment examination. He informed that only 11 among the 225 candidates had successfully cleared the skill test. The vacant posts which were not filled will be carried forward to the next recruitment examination, he added.
